Christmas Morning
For as long as I can remember, my wife has always made sure that we all have matching red plaid PJs on when we go to bed on Christmas Eve. The next morning when the children wake us up we get up without hesitation and wish evryone a Merry Christmas. Then we get the coffee started (yes, it's Christmas but first things first) and the hot cocoa warming. An assortment of Christmas cookies are set out on a plate, the cameras are gathered and then when everyone has something to eat & drink we start the tearing into the goods. A few hours (and dozens of batteries) later when everything has been opened and the kids are playing, my wife and I begin cooking the breakfast. After gorging ourselves on yummy food we sit back and enjoy playing with the kids for the rest of the day.

The Santa Tracker
When our kids were younger my wife and I like to gather them around the computer screen several times on Christmas Eve and check out Santa's progress as he makes his way to Florida. The kids get so excited as they recall all the items they asked for from Santa this year. Just before bed we would get out the cookies and milk and leave them on the special Santa's cookies plate and head off to bed.

Cookies By The Fire
On Christmas Eve, after we are all in our pj's, our family all gathers round the tree for some cookies right out of the oven and story time. We read the same story every year "The Night Before Christmas" and even though we all know it by heart, everyone pays attention right to the end. Right after the story, it's time to put the kids to bed and start the assembly process for all of the toys that need to be assembled before morning. When all is done and in place under the tree, mom & dad finally get to go to bed for a few hours before the children get up at the crack of dawn.
